Catalan Tradition: Dia de la Mona

Catalan Tradition: Dia de la Mona

Today Monday of Easter, or also known as Dia de la Mona (in catalan, which is a chocolate easter egg or cake), is holiday in Catalonia. Godparents are expected to give approximately 600,000 “monas” to their godchildren.

During the Easter week, the bakeries leaves all their creativity to make the most original “monas” that please the little ones. In addition the window displays show some samples that look incredible.

For the most demanding, in many bakeries you can make the personalized mona, for example, with the shape of the fashionable character of the moment.

We hope you enjoy the sweets today and we would love to see pictures of your monkeys
